First Week Information

Dear Brighouse Families,

Hope you are all having a wonderful summer and that you have found ways to enjoy time together, rest and rejuvenate. We are looking forward to welcoming your children back to school next Tuesday!

This information has been emailed to all families and is posted here for your convenience. Attached are 3 documents (with two Chinese Translations) that hopefully explain procedures and answer your questions related to the first week of school.

Important Date to Add to Your Calendar:

The government recently passed legislation to make September 30th a federal statutory holiday called the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. As such, all schools in the Richmond School District will be closed on Thursday, September 30, 2021. This day provides an opportunity for all Canadians to recognize and commemorate the legacy of residential schools. This may present itself as a day of quiet reflection or participation in a community event.  Schools in our district will be engaged in a variety of activities leading up to September 30th to ensure that students understand the significance of this day in our community and in our nation.

As ever, if you have any further questions please don't hesitate to call the school or connect with us over email.

Warm regards,

Mr. Ferguson and Mrs. Tse
